[Resolved] Google Maps

This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:
Search by postal code

Solution:
This can actually work but they would need to store the postal code in some custom field on the job. The job can be created as a custom post type using our Types plugin and then add the custom field for the postal code to it.

From there you can create a parametric search using our Views plugin and allow users to search for their specific zip code.

I could do with understanding the starting point on this please.

This new Client has hundreds of historical jobs. Each with specific and different address (they are all Home Extensions). They want to have a map on the site where the site visitor can enter their postcode and all the jobs local to their postcode are listed on a map and/or table format (sort of directory of jobs)

Is that possible?

How are the jobs entered onto the system - as posts? Pages/ other?

Thanks for your help.

Hi John,

Thank you for contacting our support forum.

Please let me know if this provides some insight on the query.

Thanks,
