I am wondering whether this is possible? I have created a site for an Art prize.

Entrants fill in a form which generates a post

We get about 200 entries and the judge selects 50 finalists by updating the 50 posts with a tick

Is there a way to send an email to those 50 finalists to enable them to add more information to the post generated by their entry?

Hello. Thank you for contacting the Toolset support.

At what action you want to send email:
- judge selects 50 finalists and by updating the 50 posts with a tick
==>
is it from admin? If yes, there is no such feature to send email from admin.

Sorry I didn't explain properly.

I would like to email the person who created the post and send them to an update form so they can add more information.

Is there a way to direct them to a link with only allows them to update their own post? The entries have already come in.

Do I need to create accounts and then assign the person to that post?

Its still confusing, from where the user will create the post, using Toolset form or from admin?

Can you please share whole workflow and once I understand that I will be able to guide you in the right direction.

Entrants have entered their information into a form which creates a post.

I want to send an email to some of the entrants (finalists) asking them to add more information.

I realise I should have got them to create an account when they first entered their information in the first form.

Am I able to create an account for each person's entry and then email them asking them to add more information (I would create a Post update form). Or is it too late after they have already entered?

You should create a Toolset user form using which the user should be able to register. It seems you already did this - correct?

Yes, you can create a post update form and offer that from only when user is loggedin so that they can update their information.

No I did not do this and people have already submitted forms.
Is there a way to create a user now and then assign them to an existing post?
Then I can get them to log in and fill in the update form...

You can create new users from WordPress it self, if you want to create it from admin backend. Please check the following Blog:
