[Escalated to 2nd Tier] Forms switching back from expert mode show [/cred_i18n]

If I go into Expert mode while editing a form and switch back from expert mode, the labels have [/cred_i18n] in them, and the editing fields do not look like what was being used in non-expert mode.
I can confirm that this issue still occurs on my end. However you should be able to clear up the problem by just removing the the [cred_i18n name='post_title-label'] from the label text.
I've escalated this to our 2nd tier team for further checks.
Thanks,
Shane
Hi Shane, thanks for the reply. I saw in a previous post that someone was trying to delete those like you suggested and then nothing was shown. I'll keep it like it is for now.
I wanted to update this ticket anyways. This just happened to me again and there's a bigger issue. My forms have multiple columns. When exiting expert mode, a lot of rows and column orders are lost. Even if it looks okay while editing the form, the displayed form is wrong. I end up having to almost recreate the entire form by moving fields to different rows, saving the form, moving them around again, saving, hoping it works by trial and error, etc. Please ensure the 2nd tier team has this information too.
There should've been a warning that pops up stating that your formatting will be lost when switching to the visual builder.
Its because the expert mode allows you to freely format your items so generally it's a rule to stick to the expert mode if that's what you're using becausing switching to the visual builder will reset the formatting so that it matches what the visual builder uses.
I wouldn't need to escalate this bit given that this is something that is expected to happen.
While you can go from the visual builder to the expert mode without any issues, going from the Expert mode to visual mode will cause some data loss.
Hi Shane,
The actual popup message says:
"Your edits can be lost if you switch back to the visual editor. Are you sure you want to proceed?"
Since I didn't change anything while in expert mode, I wouldn't expect anything to be changed once I got back to non-Expert mode, especially the formatting.
You are correct if its a case where you just toggle between the visual builder and expert builder that the layout shouldn't change. However if you're getting the prompt then that means the changes will be lost.
If you're toggling back and forth and not updating then you shouldn't get this prompt.
I've tested this on my end with a form and simply toggling back and forth doesn't give me the prompt. Only when a change is made am i getting the prompt or when I set the form to expert mode and then save and try to go back to the visual editor.
If the second use case applies to you then this could be why you're getting the prompt.
It’s the second case. Nothing was ever changed and only a save is done. So in effect, the save inside expert mode loses the formatting even though nothing changed.
Then its under an expected use case, so there isn't much we can do about it since there is a warning that is displayed. Once the form is saved in expert mode then its assumed that you'll be making a change in the expert mode. There are some internal values that change when you change to expert mode and then save so when you switch to the visual builder after saving then this is what prompts the message because the form internal values will need to be set back to format of the visual builder.
After sleeping about this overnight, I still say this is a poor design if that is what is being claimed. I dabble in Toolset and for a current project, I hired a Toolset expert. He sometimes goes into expert mode, and then when I want to make some minor changes in visual mode, I'm out of luck. To me, this is a simple case similar to editing HTML source in WordPress WYSIWG boxes. You can switch over to Text, make some changes, and when you go back to Visual mode, those changes are there. This is the same way for every web editor I have ever used over the past 20 years. You don't lose changes. It's just a different way of editing. Please consider this for a future "enhancement."
