Hi when building a form in Normal mode and selecting 'Required field' the 'Default field value' displays as '1' on the front end form but there is nothing entered in the 'Default field value'
If you switch to Expert mode it shows the '1' in the code, but we want to keep the form in normal mode.

Hi there

I assume you are talking about adding a generic field to the form (Types fields inherit their required setting from Types).

I see the same problem on my local test site: not setting a default adds a default of 1 if the field is required.

Having confirmed the problem I've escalated it to the developers and will update you when I have some feedback to share.

If you don't want to use the Expert mode editor, the only other workaround I can see is to use a blank space for the default value.

Thanks I'll wait to hear back and will use the blank space for now.
