Hi#

I had a field in a field group. I made some changes to the relationship and now it doesn't show in the field group even after i reverted the relationship type.

However the data still shows on pages as before.

I want to be able to view the field in the field group again.

I tried adding

Hello. Thank you for contacting the Toolset support.

Can you please confirm what custom field group you created? Have you created many-to-many post relationship and you added the field group to intermediary post type?

What fields you added to what field group and to what post types that field group was assigned?

Please share all those required information and admin access details.

I would also eventually need to request temporary access (WP-Admin and FTP) to your site. Preferably to a test site where the problem has been replicated if possible in order to be of better help and check if some configurations might need to be changed.

I have set the next reply to private which means only you and I have access to it.

Initial fields were Post reference. It was part of a field group for some years.

I changed them from "one to many" to "many to many". They then disappeared from the group and from the edit and create pages.

However the data remains visible on the completed pages as Course Creator and Course Tutor.

I tried resetting the relationship back to one to many but it still doesn't show.

I tried re-adding as a new field and using previously created fields, but it doesn't show there either.

The Field group is Field Group for Products.

The fields are (I think these are the correct names) course_creator and course_tutor

I can see the note - when you change the post reference field to many-to-many:

After this change is complete, the Post Reference Field will no longer be part of this group and you will need to update the templates for Sessions and Posts, so that they display using the correct relationship.

So what you see is expected as the relationship is changed and it will not be part of the add/edit post.

On post relationship listing page:
- hidden link

I can see there is duplicate post relationship for:
- Course > Creator
- Course > Tutor

I'm not sure which relationship is your correct relationship.

What if you try to delete those unwanted post relationship and again try to add the post reference field to your desired custom field group?

Hi

I tried removing the realationships but there is still no sign of the fields.

Clearly the fields still exist somewhere in data form as they display on my product pages.

Is the no way I can retrieve them?

I'd rather not have to recreate them and then populate them for each product. But if I can't retrieve them then i can't add them to new products.

Best wishes,
Lal

The field is not exists but the data in database exists where you attached the post reference field.

I do not see any way as its clearly mention that when you change it to many-to-many the post reference field will be deleted.

The only way I think is you will have to create new post reference field and check if you able to make it work.

But before performing any steps I strongly suggest that you should take full backup of your database so in any worst case you have backup to restore.

You may also think of restoring the old backup if you have before migration post reference field to many-to-many.

Ok, that's unfortunate. i understood that they would be removed from the group, but not that they would disappear from all human view 🙂

I'll recreate and be grateful that i only have 40 products and not 400.

Best wishes,
Lal

Ok - As you know we cant revoke few human errors this is the classis example of such error.

please create a new post reference field and check if you able to see the correct results.
