I am trying to find a plugin that will allow me to export various bits of content as PDFs. I found a few, but Toolset custom fields and taxonomies just don't seem to export in any of them. Can you recommend any (free) plugin that would include those fields in a pdf export? Thanks!
Hi, I don't have any recommendations for known working post-to-pdf conversion systems unfortunately, but I would be glad to take a look at any of the PDF generation plugins you test to see if we can do something about making our systems compatible. If any of these plugins allows custom fields and custom taxonomies of any kind, then our developers might be able to collaborate to allow Toolset's content. Or, if their systems allow you to use shortcodes in the PDF template or PDF builder, then perhaps we could work with them to allow Toolset shortcodes. If a plugin doesn't support any custom fields or custom taxonomies or shortcodes, then the amount of work needed to bring that PDF plugin up-to-speed would be very high and out of the control of Toolset, obviously.
On the other hand, you might consider using a 3rd party CSV export tool to generate a CSV file with the desired information. Then you can generate a PDF from that CSV file from using various 3rd-party software like Google Spreadsheets, Excel, etc. A good CSV export tool will usually handle custom fields / custom taxonomies.
Thanks for the info and offer. I looked through all the options and they mention integration with Advanced Custom Fields, but they are all a bit expensive for now. I decided to go for a brute-force approach and will simply add a regular print page html/js button.
