[Resolved] Exporting a Post Form to an Excel Spreadsheet

This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem: I would like to export custom field values from one of my custom post types into a spreadsheet.

Solution: There is nothing built-in to Toolset that will export post content to a spreadsheet, but you could create a View that includes the desired content in a table format, then preview the View, and copy + paste that content into some spreadsheet software. Otherwise, a 3rd-party plugin is needed to export post content to spreadsheet / CSV format.

Tell us what you are trying to do? I have a post form created that athletes fill out and I want to export the data to an excel spreadsheet instead of going into each entry and getting an email address.

Is there any documentation that you are following? I read everything on our site first and couldn't find anything before I created a ticket.

Is there a similar example that we can see?

What is the link to your site? here is the link to the form on the front end. hidden link

Hi, there's nothing exactly like this built into WordPress or Toolset. You can use the basic WordPress Export tool (wp-admin > Toolset > Export) to export posts along with their custom field content, but the only format is XML. If you want to export post content as CSV for Excel or Google Spreadsheets, you need a 3rd-party plugin like one of these: https://wordpress.org/plugins/search/csv+export/
I don't really have a recommendation, you would have to see which one works best for your needs.

However, if you just want to generate a quick list of email addresses without a 3rd-party plugin, you could create a table View of this post type, and insert the name and email addresses in the loop. Place that View on a draft Page and preview it, and you might be able to copy the generated table and paste it into some spreadsheet software that recognizes HTML tables and converts them to spreadsheet format. If the formatting is a problem, then a 3rd-party plugin might be the best option here.
