I have created a featured image custom field for the post category taxonomy and I am working with Elementor and Toolset. I am unable to display the custom field using a shortcode because from Toolset it does not have an integrated field connection with Elementor and it does not suggest me any custom fields in the widgets. I need it to load in Elementor templates dynamically.

Toolset has limited integration with Elementor. Having said that only post fields with specific type like single line, multiline, select, email, radio will be supported with the Elementor's dynamic custom field section.
To display the term field, you will require to add taxonomy view (in legacy mode3) and inside taxonomy view loop you can add your desired term field to display.
If you can tell me at what section exactly of what page/post you want to display what term field and share all those details, once I review that I will be able to guide you in the right direction.

I would also eventually need to request temporary access (WP-Admin and FTP) to your site. Preferably to a test site where the problem has been replicated if possible in order to be of better help and check if some configurations might need to be changed.
