This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.
Problem:
1. So for the Edit link to appear, post type must have the "publish" status only? Not even a custom status?
2. BTW, can I create a custom post status for a CPT with Toolset?
Solution:
1. This is possible using our latest View's beta version 2.5-b1 or later, in this version CRED edit post links works for drafts, private, future or pending posts as well. So please backup your site and you can install & try the beta version:

2. This is not possible with Toolset Types, as I think this might be possible using custom code / WordPress function "register post status" OR by using a plugin.
