I am trying to: work with content templates containing conditionals
Link to a page where the issue can be seen: this is a development site, not open for public yet
I expected to see: edit content template pages to load normally
Instead, I got: load times are extremely long
I am working on a new site where I have a content template for products which has one conditional (if this field is empty don't show it). This seems to be responsible for really long load times. I am on premium hosting which I can increase to 4GB internal memory, running on a Litespeed server with 3 Ryzen 9 CPU's and the fastest NVME SSD's available. Even with these specs it takes the edit content template page about 3 minutes to load, which makes it necessary to increase the php maximum execution time and the connection time to avoid 503 server errors and connection time outs. I checked the error logs and the resource usage on the server and see no PHP errors caused by loading the edit content template page. To me this looks like a design fault.
Once the content template edit page is finally loaded, it still takes a lot of time to load the various dynamic fields for the product that is displayed in the content template edit page.
On the front end there is no problem displaying the products with this content template and load times are normal.
Perhaps I am missing a setting that can avoid these extreme load times. Perhaps this is a Gutenberg flaw. I don't know. I do know I'm not only on a premium web server, but I'm also using a well recommended theme (Astra Pro) which is quite optimized to work with Toolset.
Sorry, I can't give you acces to the back end of the development site now, I just want to know if this is a known issue with Toolset and Gutenberg that has the attention of the Toolset developers.
Hello. Thank you for contacting the Toolset support.
You can see all the known issues with the following link - you can check if your issue is related to any of those known issues:
To ensure what exactly the issue is I will require either admin access details or duplicator copy of your site and steps I will have to follow to see the issue.
*** Please make a FULL BACKUP of your database and website.***
I would also eventually need to request temporary access (WP-Admin and FTP) to your site. Preferably to a test site where the problem has been replicated if possible in order to be of better help and check if some configurations might need to be changed.
I have set the next reply to private which means only you and I have access to it.
