There have been no updates for blocks during the last couple of months, whereas you have been releasing new versions quite regularly up to Summer 2021. What has happened since then?
We're about to publish a maintenance release for WordPress 5.9, which will be available in the next few days.
We have been prioritising work on stability and compatibility improvements, and there will be a series of releases related to that over the coming months.
Because the WordPress landscape is quite fluid at the moment, we've been focusing on fundamentals and stability work to strengthen the existing features we already have which will give us a stronger foundation to work on new features going forward.
Quite a bit of the work developers do—on unit and automated testing, for example—is unseen but pays dividends in future development work.
