The documentations is all about the setup, is there any guide to convert existing site to divi base?

Hello. Thank you for contacting the Toolset support.

Well - I hope you went through the following divi Docs:
=> https://toolset.com/documentation/user-guides/toolset-divi-integration/
=> https://toolset.com/documentation/user-guides/toolset-divi-integration/designing-templates-divi-using-toolset/

Now - you can use Layouts to design your content area and for archives also you can use Layouts. For archive - you should create a archive using views and add archive cell to layouts and set the layout to use archive.
=> https://toolset.com/documentation/toolset-training-course/part-2-creating-layouts-for-archives/

im afraid you're not answering my question or if you read it before hand.

i am asking for a site that already running, do i need to re-edit the page and set the layout back or this will be done automatically since the plugins are no longer required.

=> Well - with theme integration Layouts you will create will only affect the content area of the page not whole template. If you want to edit the whole template you need to use custom code, check my minimax theme for example:
=> hidden link

Also - as you know that the theme integratin plugins are retired now and we are working on it. Since Layouts 2.0.1 Layouts you will create will only affect the content area of the page, much like non-integrated themes as stated with our doc here:
=> https://toolset.com/documentation/user-guides/toolset-divi-integration/

With that said, it means that if you want to integrate divi theme with your content you need to create Layouts and assign correct Layout to your content (page/post/archive) hense there is no automated process. If you want to use layouts with divi to change your content area you should create appropriate layouts and assign it to your desired content.
