[Resolved] Divi Button Not Using Shortcode Correctly

This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:

The issue here is that the user wanted to add our toolset shortcode to a button generated using DIVI

Solution:

The issue is that the button doesn't process shortcodes for its url Value.

I'm not sure if Divi had improved this but its not possible use a shortcode to provide the value for a divi button.

Hello, I'm trying to link "a post related to the current post, set by a Types post reference field" from a Divi button. The shortcode is as follows: {!{wpv-post-url item="@download-link.parent"}!}

It goes to an incorrect page (hidden link - see screenshot).

When I use the same shortcode in a text field, it goes to the correct page (hidden link - see screenshot).

Can you provide instructions on how to use shortcodes inside something that has the visual look of a button?

If you need to access the site, the basic auth is flywheel / access-bcplus

Regards,
Steven Leung

Hi Steven,

I'm not sure what you mean.

Is it that the download button is not working as intended?

Please let me know.
Thanks,
Shane

Thanks, sorry I wasn't clear.

The button isn't going to the URL that I wanted. It looks like a bug.

When I add the shortcode {!{wpv-post-url item="@download-link.parent"}!} to a button, it goes to the wrong link.

When I add that shortcode to a text field, it displays the correct link.

Steven Leung

Hi Steven,

Thanks for confirming.
