[SOLVED]

This is the fix for this issues so any who come across it can easily fix it.

I am developing locally using Turnkey Linux - WordPress appliance
hidden link

I had just installed the DIVI Theme from Elegant Themes
hidden link

Every time I go to a page on the site to edit I get this error message:

"Divi Builder Timeout"

I disabled all plugins apart from the Divi Builder plugin, and every time i enabled *any* other plugins I would get the message again.

**THE FIX on TurnKey Linux**

Access your local Webmin control panel e.g

hidden link

1. Login to webmin using your root account.

2. Under the Servers tab go into Apache.

3. Click Default server.

4. Under Per-Directory Options click Location /

5. Click Edit Directives.

6. Delete all the stuff in that box. Save and restart apache/ click apply changes.

** this stuff:
AddOutputFilterByType INFLATE;SUBSTITUTE;DEFLATE text/html
Substitute "s|</head>|<style type='text/css'> #turnkey-credit { font-family: Tahoma,Sans,Arial,Helvetica,Verdana,sans-serif; font-size: 11px; text-align: center; } #turnkey-credit a { text-decoration: none; } #turnkey-credit a:hover { text-decoration: underline; } body.wp-admin #turnkey-credit, body#image #turnkey-credit, body#media-upload #turnkey-credit { display: none; } </style></head>|i"
Substitute "s|</body>|<div id='turnkey-credit'> <div style='clear: both;'> hidden link Linux </div> </div></body>|i"

7. Reload your webpage, you might need to clear your cache.

-- That fixes it, you may need to re enable your plugins...

Here is an update from the client:

The issue has to do with the attribution footer that the Turnkey team adds to their LAMP stacks. This can be disabled with:

a2dismod substitute
service apache2 restart
