[Resolved] differences between – WPBakery and Toolset or Toolset Blocks

This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:

The issue here is that the user wanted to know the difference and benefits between Toolset Blocks and the WPBakery plugins.

Solution:

Toolset Blocks
Pros

1. Since this is an in house plugin, there is guaranteed compatibility with our Toolset functions such as getting data from parent posts, adding views visually to your editors etc.

2. Compatibility with the core wordpress is always ensured.

3. Staying in one family of plugins always ensures that items work and work well together. If there are any issues you will only need to speak to one team rather than going between Toolset and WpBakery.

4. Integrates with the native gutenburg editor for posts and pages.

5. Allows for live previewing of expected data while editing a view or a page.

Cons

1. Early stages of development so many features are lacking.

2. Since this is a first release unforseen issues may arise.

WPBakery.

I cannot comment much on this, however I can say that since this is from a different team there is the potential for eventual conflicts as well as items not working how they are meant to.

This will increase debug time as for bugs and compatibility our development teams would need to consult on how to resolve the issue .

One benefit tho is that WPBakery has been around for quite a while and they are now a well established page builder.

Easier way to do back end editing. - what are pros and cons or a comparison between WPBakery (on Toolset) and Toolset Blocks

Is there any documentation that you are following?
https://toolset.com/documentation/user-guides/how-toolset-plugins-work-with-gutenberg/known-issues-for-toolset-blocks/
https://toolset.com/documentation/user-guides/using-toolset-with-wpbakery-page-builder/

Is there a similar example that we can see?
Seeking an alternative to visual editor.

What is the link to your site?
not relevant as it's still in formative stages

Hi Mindy,

Have a look at the screenshots.

Its done in the same way that the Gutenberg Editor does the columns.

Please let me know if this helps.

Thanks,
Shane
