[Resolved] Designing woo product layouts with Kadence theme. Editor not showing elements
This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.
Problem:
The user is designing a content template for products, but the preview does not display data that it is expected to show in the respective blocks(image, title, price).
Solution:
While the user was designing the content template, he was using a post that is not a product.
After choosing to design the post with an actual product the data starts to appear in the preview.
The preview with dropdown is also a search box to change the current post used for preview. Check this screenshot https://prnt.sc/15ycbcp
This support ticket is created 3 years, 5 months ago. There's a good chance that you are reading advice that it now obsolete.
This is the technical support forum for Toolset - a suite of plugins for developing WordPress sites without writing PHP.
Everyone can read this forum, but only Toolset clients can post in it. Toolset support works 6 days per week, 19 hours per day.
Tell us what you are trying to do? I'm trying to design a custom product layout. I feel like there should be a dummy product image and also, the Add to Cart button is not displaying in the editor. I've got the Kadence theme active also.
Your screenshot is of a Content Template. Is it assigned to the product post type?
At the top of the screen, what is the post being used for the preview? (It begins with "Import"; it should be a product if the preview of dynamic sources for the blocks is to work.)
So,
- make sure the template is assigned to products, and
- make sure the post used for the preview is a product.
If you still don't see the blocks previewing with content as you would expect, let us know and we can take a closer look.
According to the "toolset-4.jpg" screenshot, you have two content templates assigned for products. One of them is to be used for products from the category "mug".
I'd like to get a closer look at your website and check these issues. Your next reply will be private to let you share credentials safely. ** Make a database backup before sharing credentials. **
I can't tell why your were having those posts for preview "Import placeholder xxx". When I have chosen a proper product, I can see the image preview. Check this screenshot hidden link
Note that you can search for products in the preview dropdown. It is also a search input.
To be able to tell why the dropdown is displaying "Import placeholder titles" I'll need to perform a compatibility test. Check if this issue appears when:
- Only Toolset plugins are activated. It will tell us if there is an interaction issue with another plugin.
- The theme is set to a WordPress default like Twenty-Twenty. It will tell us if there is an interaction issue with your theme.
If the problem disappears, start activating one at a time to track where the incompatibility is produced.
I hope this helps. Let me know if you have any questions.
Thank you! Sidenote, you may want to amend your set up tutorial to include information about the "preview with" and ability to search in that field.
As for finding the issue behind the "placeholder image xxx", as that's really more of a nuance than an issue for me, and as I would have to deactivate over 10 plugins to figure it out, I'm going to move on as I still have a mountain of work to do on this project.
thank you again!
