[Resolved] date range in Views

This support ticket is created 5 years ago. There's a good chance that you are reading advice that it now obsolete.

This is the technical support forum for Toolset - a suite of plugins for developing WordPress sites without writing PHP.

Everyone can read this forum, but only Toolset clients can post in it. Toolset support works 6 days per week, 19 hours per day.

I create a custom field type: Date. In Views, I hope the Display to be like date range1, not data range2 as attached below.

For data range2, I can set the type of control to be DatePicker without problem.

But can I change the control type to Text Input?
If yes, how to make other necessary settings in the Display options?

Hello. Thank you for contacting the Toolset support.

Tex input for date field is not the recommended way as Types stores the custom date field value in the numeric format as Unix timestamp.

If you will use text field - you will not know in what format the user will add the date and there is no control to validate the date while using the text input. So I would recommend using the standard range2 date picker control.

Thanks for your reply.

I will take your suggestion to use numeric format as Unix timestamp for Date type.

Is it possible to style the control to be as attached range3? My client said it is much better than the original as range2.

No - the date filters are inbuild and there is no native feature available to change those filters GUI.
