[Resolved] Custom Search In layout Page Not Working

This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:

The issue here is that the user's custom search is not working.

Solution:

In a case like this it's usually an issue with the filters. What i would recommend that you do is to remove the query filters and re-add them.

I have a CPT Organisation. Org has several Custom Taxonomies: Org type, Service Type, Target Audiences, Areas Of Operations.
I have a layout set to function as the above taxonomies archive and Org's archive. (Image 1). The layout features a custom search that allows you to filter (Drop Down) the taxonomies and also perform a free search. The layout is made from two columns - one contains the search filter and the other - the results. The filter is set to:

What do you want to display in this cell? > Only the search form >Where do you want to display the results? > In another place on this same page (img_2)

The results cell is set to
What do you want to display in this cell? > Only the results

Not only that there is no actual filtering going on - i.e when you click search - you get the exact same outcome, it sometimes redirects you from the page to the economy (archive) page. i.e (to this URL)

hidden link

I need it to stay on the same page (hidden link) and not redirect to the taxonomy archive page.

It is on a dev setting (local) so I can't give you access. But maybe you can help me sort that out without direct access?

If you need any more info - please let me know

Thanks

Hi Doron,

I would need to see this to understand exactly whats going on.

You can provide me with a copy of the site by using the duplicator plugin. To do this please take a look at our documentation below.

Hi Doron,

Yes i'm getting to it now. The forum was really busy for the past few day so there were some delays.

Thanks,
Shane

Hi Doron,

I managed to restore the backup you sent me however looking at the page where the search is to be i'm not seeing the search. Also i'm not seeing any filters on the Layout.

Could you try removing the search filters completely on your end and re-adding them again ?

Thanks,
Shane

Hey
The Issue was (apperantly) with the "Query Filter" section. For some reason the filters were removed, making the search parameters unusfull

Thanks
