We are using Avada with their Fusion Builder.
We want to disable the fusion builder on the backend and only allow our clients to use custom fields we created with Toolset to create new posts or edit existing posts.
We want to have several different layouts based on content type so we have created post templates.
How can we have our clients create a new post with the preset template required for that that specific post layout
without giving them access to Fusion Builder or any other editor only the Toolset custom fields?
You mean you created templates with Toolset, or with Avada?
Toolset templates offer display conditions based on taxonomies and custom field values, so you could use a particular template for all posts with a particular category, for example. (Or you could make a custom taxonomy specifically for which template to use.) You set those conditions in the sidebar settings where you specify which post type the template is used for (screenshot).
If you are making the templates with Avada's templating system, I don't know if they offer something similar.
