2. Screenshot where fields dissapeared.JPG
1. Screenshot where everything fine.JPG

Hello Toolset team,

I want to introduce a star rating, but not showing the standard stars, but something different – in my example here I took hearts. The problem is that all Toolset fields disappear as soon as I change the star icon type from “Dashicons” to “Custom Icon”.

For demonstrating this I added here two screenshots and each screenshot shows on the left side my backend and on the right side the front end. So in the first screenshot we see that I took two times the default “Dashicons”. Here everything works fine. In the second screenshot we see that I changed the second rating to “Custom Icon”. In the backend we see the first rating (the stars), the second rating (the hearts) and also the placeholder for the image. But in the frontend everything disappeared except the title.

Can you please have a look at this and tell me how I can use “Custom Icons”.

Thank you and kind regards
Andreas

Hi Andreas

I tested this myself on my local test site with the current plugin versions, and I see that the custom icons are not rendering on the front end.

We have an earlier report of this, so I'm adding your thread to the existing internal ticket to help raise the priority with the developers. (I have also added a known-issues post about this problem.)

Sorry for the inconvenience. I don't have a fix right now, but if a workaround becomes available before it is fixed in production I will let you know.

Thanks for this info Nigel!

Do you know if there is a delivery date for a solution? And could you also tell me when this internal ticket was opened?

Thank you and have a good one
Andreas

The initial report was earlier this year, but there was only a single report about it. Hence it hasn't been prioritised by the developers.

I can't say how long it will take to fix, but now there is another report that will help raise the profile of the issue.

I took another look at my test site this morning to see if there was anything I could spot that might expedite a solution, and when I used Font Awesome for the custom heart icon, I found it working.

So I went on to your site and on the Sample Page I added a Star Rating block using the same, and that is working: hidden link

Can you check where you were trying to use it?
