[Resolved] CSS and JS for whole site in Layouts?

This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:

The issue here is that the user wanted to know if the Layouts JS and CSS is sitewide.

Solution:

Yes the sitewide css and js goes in the Layouts Css and JS editor.

Its really a matter of personal preference because if you were to disable the Layouts plugin then the css wouldn't apply but if it was in the child theme css then disabling plugins wouldn't affect it.

What I do recommend is that if the CSS is to target items independent of what is being used in layouts is to use the theme's custom css.

If the css is meant for items in Layouts items then its ok to put them here.

Hi:

I understand it is possible to enter CSS/JS on a *locally* for specific edits/Views, but I'm wondering:
--does one also place the *sitewide* CSS/JS into Layouts, too (e.g. font sizes/colors/types for the entire site, etc). I ask because I saw in one of your teaching videos --(can't remember which one it was)-- that there was a whole page dedicated to CSS/JS and, to get to that page, I believe it was accessed from the left col in the wordpress admin--I believe it was called "CSS and JS Layouts"?.)
--Is this where one is to place *all* the general CSS and JS for the site?
--Or is it better to place all general CSS into the child theme? (I'm using Astra).
Thank you.
