[Resolved] Cred user registration form – Pending approval & Buddypress fields

This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:

The issue here is that the user wanted to approve their user registrations before allowing them to access the site. The user is creating their accounts through our Toolset forms.

Secondly the user wanted to know if it was possible for our Forms plugin to populate the buddypress user field.

Solution:

For the new user registration approval you can actually use the plugin below to do this.
https://wordpress.org/plugins/new-user-approve/

Secondly the Buddypress user fields are not able to be populate by our Toolset Forms plugin because these fields are not on the user themselves but rather in a profile cpt that buddypress creates.

0% of people find this useful.

1. Is it possible for logged in users, to fill out the form to add their new starters and the form to be pending approval, so that an admin has to approve the user before the user is sent login details?

2. Is it possible to add buddypress additional fields to the form?

Hi Leila,

Thank you for contacting our support forum.

You can use the plugin below to approve the users.
https://wordpress.org/plugins/new-user-approve/

Secondly for the buddy press fields yes you should be able to do this in CRED but you will need to create a generic field for each of the fields.

If you can provide me with access I can setup one example field for you.

Thanks,
Shane

Hi Leila,

Have a look at my screenshot. Are these the buddy press fields ?

1. Thanks for the suggested plugin, I noticed it's not compatible with the latest version of WordPress, would this be a problem?

Yes you can install and use it. I actually use it on one of my test sites so you shouldn't have any issues.

Hi Leila,

Unfortunately no our Forms plugin wouldn't be able to populate the information for these fields.

Thanks,
Shane

1. Is that 100% definite that it can not be done? Could you double check, as we really wanted to use toolset for this.

Thanks

Hi Leila,

You can try creating a generic field field in our Forms plugin and see if it works. Giving the field the same name as the field that is on the profile. See Screenshot

I cannot guarantee that it will work but you are welcomed to try.

Thanks,
Shane

Okay we will use gravity forms instead.

Did anyone try Shane's approach, I would like to use CRED user forms to populate information in Buddypress?

I'm surprised this hasn't been implemented yet!

Hi Shane,

Did this ever work?
