Tell us what you are trying to do?

I have a cpt called job. When a user submits a bid which is a child post of job, the job author receives a notification.

Is there any documentation that you are following?

I have tried everything I could find from your support forums

Is there a similar example that we can see?

What is the link to your site?

Hi James,

Thank you for contacting Toolset support. I believe you are creating Child form using this doc:
https://toolset.com/documentation/user-guides/cred-forms-for-child-content/

It seems like there is some problem with cred_post_parent shortcodes, as it didn’t work in my first test:
[cred_post_parent get='id']
[cred_post_parent get='title']
[cred_post_parent get='url']

I am checking this further and will let you know my findings.

Thank you

Hello James,

I have tried cred_post_parent shortcodes and following ones are not working as expected. I have escalated this issue to our 2nd tier support for further review and we will get back to you with an update.

[cred_post_parent get='id'] == shows nothing.
[cred_post_parent get='title'] == shows wrong parent post title.

Thank you for your patience.

Hello James,

cred_post_parent shortcodes are working as expected for our 2nd tier support. I have installed fresh site and latest Toolset plugins. Now cred_post_parent shortcodes are also working on my site.

1. Please make sure all Toolset plugins are updated to latest versions as a primary check:
https://toolset.com/account/downloads/

- Also can you please share your Debug Information with us so we can see it? I have enabled debug info box for your next reply:
https://toolset.com/faq/provide-debug-information-faster-support/

2. If still issue arise, please try to check it by deactivating all third-party plugins (except Toolset) and switching back to the Default Theme (e.g. Twenty Sixteen theme) to see for any possible conflicts with any of the plugins or themes?

3. If issue still exists, please provide temporary access (WP-Admin and FTP Login info) to your staging site.

Your next answer will be private which means only you and I have access to it.

=== Please backup your database and website ===

✙ I would additionally need your permission to de-activate and re-activate Plugins and the Theme, and to change configurations on the site. This is also a reason the backup is really important.

✙ Please add the Links to the [CRED Form] Edit Screen and [Page] Edit Screen where you have inserted this Form.

Thank you

You need to follow this doc: https://toolset.com/documentation/user-guides/cred-forms-for-child-content/

Don't worry, no need to do anything special, just follow the steps in above doc and simply set the notifications:
https://toolset.com/documentation/user-guides/automated-email-notifications-with-cred/

Thank you
