This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.
Problem: CRED does not respect the select_text parameter in the cred_field shortcode.
Solution: Update to Toolset Forms 2.0 to get the fix for this issue.

I'm using the latest stable version of Cred 1.9.6
I have a types select field. (select-field.png)
I automatically generated the Cred form (cred-form.png). All is good, except for the select_ text parameter, which is ignored
By the way, this parameter works correctly for selecting the parent post.
I added a few lines of js to this form for the correct display.
Also as a temporary fix in the forum thread
