Cred Auto Draft Email.PNG

We have a cred form, that should only generate an email after a user submits the form.

Last week we recieved an email with the heading 'Form Submission: CRED Auto Draft f9659bb8ded7065296cdfcf545ebeb0a'.

Rather than: 'Form Submission: [POST TITLE] (as I would expect, and happens after a user submits a form)

Why would we recieve an email for an autodraft?

Also, the entry has now disappeared from the backend (is that becusae autodrafts are cleared from the system after a set amount of time?)

Hi there

When someone opens a page containing a form a temporary post is generated with an autodraft title (and auto-draft status).

When the form is submitted the auto-draft post is removed and replaced with the final post using the data from the form submission.

If a user abandons the form, so that the auto-draft is not deleted, a clean-up routine subsequently deletes them. (I'm not sure of the interval.)

I'm not sure why a form notification would be triggered for an auto-draft post where the post wasn't submitted.

If the form does not include a post title field then the resulting final post will still have an auto-draft title.

Was this a one-time event? Perhaps something slipped twixt cup and lip with this particular submission, and it won't be repeated. But if it occurs with every submission we'd need to review your form settings to better understand why.

Hi there,

This issue has happened again - with the same user.

Can you help us work out what might be causing the issue?

Thanks!
Kate
