Can you let us know if it is possible to create this type of event map:
hidden link
Within 2 days?
With different categories, map icons according to label, a sign up form, with url, organizer details, logo/image.
To handle many map views and locations as well?

Hi Bastiaan,

Thank you for getting in touch.

This is possible to do with our views plugin, however it is going to take a bit of work to achieve. Its possible to do within 2 days as well.

When you say " map icons according to label" what are the labels are these custom fields ?

"a sign up form" is this referencing a registration form for users to register for your site ?

The basics such as setting up the posts and having the items searchable on the map and able to click on each marker is possible, however I'm not sure of the scope of the entire site.

Please let me know.

Thanks,
Shane

Hi Shane,

We envision a sign up form on the webpage (or like they have on the example website I provided) with a list of questions, and indeed of the custom fields will be a category (for example) and that category would get a specific map icon, just like on the example I gave.

The rest of the site is there already we just need a single page.
Although we worry that the rest of the site is using BuddyBoss Theme, and that may not work, we saw in some threads online.
Please let us know.

Thanks.

This one is possible to achieve however the way I recommend doing this is to set the marker icon based on the term assigned to the post. This means you won't be assigning the icons to the taxonomy itself but when you are inserting the marker you will set the icon based on the current conditional for that taxonomy.

If you have this setup already I will be more than happy to log in and set this up for you on the map.

Thanks,
Shane

Hi Shane,

Thank you for your answer, and apologies for the delayed reply.
I am just new to Toolset. not yet started, first looking at the Docs and training videos.
Would be nice to be able to download them as I have an issue watching them, unless full screen.

In your reply of January 29, 2021, at 3:43 you mention it's possible in 2 working days.
Is that for beginners following the tutorials or experienced developers?
And what will a Developer cost, for 2 days, when they do this for us?

Also, do you know if OpenStreetMaps is on the roadmap of Toolset?
Due to Google-Map-costs-per-view, we have set Google-Maps use, to very low qty.

Just started using hidden link to show community members on the map.
But wpgeodirectory is missing the multiple query field option, like your "travel" example"

Due to, Toolset has not yet openstreetmap as an option,
idea is to combine toolset with wpgeodirectory.
Whereas the Input-Form and the search results are from Toolset,
and the Global map is rendered through synching (put data into) the wpgeodirectory maps field

Also please let me know your thoughts on this?

Thanks,
Bastiaan

Hi Bastiaan,

No worries

If you've had a look at the documentation it can be possible within 2 days to achieve, however this is highly subjective to how well you are able to understand and put the knowledge that was gained through the documentation into practice.

Regarding a developer to get this to do for you and the cost, you will need to contact a contractor that is registered with us in order to get a quote as we don't do that kind of work here .

You can have a look at the registered contractors at the link below.

Also, do you know if OpenStreetMaps is on the roadmap of Toolset?
Due to Google-Map-costs-per-view, we have set Google-Maps use, to very low qty.

I checked on our internal system to see if this is being added and I can see that our development team is reviewing this to add it to a future release.

Due to, Toolset has not yet openstreetmap as an option,
idea is to combine toolset with wpgeodirectory.
Whereas the Input-Form and the search results are from Toolset,

The search aspect is indeed possible with Toolset, however will it be a case where the wpgeodirectory will produce a map ?

Based on what I see on the wpgeodirectory site, it appears to be a complete directory package with search and map.

As per their demo below.
