Creating a custom field that pulls data from another page

Tell us what you are trying to do?
I put a single field in my homepage, and I want it to pull data from a custom field in a post from my custom post type. However, when I click the drop down to select the custom field, there are no options.

Is there any documentation that you are following? No

Is there a similar example that we can see?

Will this custom field data be static? Meaning it will always be pulling the data from Post X?

Hi Daniel,

Then you won't need to create a custom field on the homepage post. What you can do is to pull the data from the custom field using the shortcode [types field='field-slug' item='1234'] where field-slug is the slug of the custom field and 1234 is the ID of the post that you want to pull the custom field value from.
