[Resolved] CPT Relationship to Self Workaround

This support ticket is created 3 years, 4 months ago. There's a good chance that you are reading advice that it now obsolete.

This is the technical support forum for Toolset - a suite of plugins for developing WordPress sites without writing PHP.

Everyone can read this forum, but only Toolset clients can post in it. Toolset support works 6 days per week, 19 hours per day.

Tell us what you are trying to do?
I have a BPT "Software" that has a collection of fields related to a software solution. Conceptually, I would like to model something like alternativeto.net ... that shows you different solutions. Ideally, there would be CPT "Relationship to Self" type functionality where I could individually select similar solutions to the CPT entry, but I understand that is not possible.

I am curious if there is an ideological workaround, perhaps using categories or tags that would allow me to display "similar solutions".

Is there any documentation that you are following?

if you want to allow users to connect only one post from the same post type then I suggest you should create a custom select field and use the Types hook: wpt_field_options
