Duplicate field groups and fields

This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem: I have a custom field with a lot of options. I would like to create a clone of this field so I do not have to recreate all the options.

Solution: There's not a direct way to copy fields or field options into another field group in wp-admin, but Toolset Import / Export gives you the ability to export your Types field information into a zip file, and import Types fields from a zip file. First, create the field copy in the 2nd group. Add one or two options manually. Then export your Types field information. Expand that zip file and edit the XML document to copy the options from field "a" to field "b". Then repackage a new zip file and import the modified Types data.

Tell us what you are trying to do?

Is there a way to copy / duplicatie a fieldset / field? I've a large field groep and I want tot duplicate is to make some changes to it and use it for another posttype.

Is there any documentation that you are following?

Is there a similar example that we can see?

I don't see anything in the feature request pipeline related to duplication of fields and field groups right now. If this is something you'd like to see added to the Types plugin, I encourage you to create a separate ticket to suggest an enhancement or improvement, and describe what you'd like to see here (these tickets are handled a bit differently from How-to or Bug tickets, so a separate ticket is best).
