[Resolved] Contract Rate field adding an unwanted, leading zero

This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:

The issue here is that the user had a number field that when it is being displayed gets an extra value added to it.

Solution:

In this user's case he had a custom shortcode wrapping the types shortcode and this could've been the cause of the problem. I would recommend checking for custom code on your site that would affect the number fields.

I am trying to: solve a problem where I created a Type called Jobs for a recruitment website. For Contract jobs, there is a contract Rate (e.g. £450/day). This worked fine until recently. Now it pads this out with a leading zero, giving me £0450/day

I expected to see: £450/day

Instead, I got: £450/day

Hi Niel,

I'm not sure why there is a 0 padded onto the digits but I see that you're using some custom shortcode around the types field.

Could you try removing it and see if this is what was causing the issue ? Also I noticed when I change the template value its not being reflected on the frontend. Is the site using some form of caching ?

Please let me know.
Thanks,
Shane

Hi

Yes it has caching on it. I've turned that off for the time being now.

It's been a while since I looked at Toolset so I'm quite vague as to what I did back when I wrote this. Please could you be a bit more specific about exactly what I need to change and how I can do it? I.e. " using some custom shortcode around the types field" - where is that?

Thx

Neil
