Tell us what you are trying to do?
I have set up a content template with a container with a grid. Within the grid, I need 2 cells, but no matter what I do, additional cells keep getting added. They're locked cells, so it's a hassle to keep deleting them all. Plus, I'd like to know why they're being added to begin with. I don't actually see the empty cells on the front end of the site in any way, but I would like them not to keep reappearing/to know why this keeps happening.
Is there any documentation that you are following?
I'm following the WordPress Directory and Classifieds Sites course to set everything up.
Is there a similar example that we can see?
No. I've included screenshots here so you can see what I'm seeing as a starting point. (grid-cells-wanted.png shows the cells opened for the cells I actually want. grid-cells.png shows all the extra locked cells that keep reappearing even after I delete them. extra-cells.png shows the layout on the page for all the extra cells.)
What is the link to your site?
This is a site in development using a local installation (via XAMPP).
Okay. I spent some time trying to recreate this (but it feels like a lot of work to figure this out). I went through the sandbox site and set up a custom post type (BBOrganizations), 2 taxonomies (BBTopics, BBCounties), a custom field group (Field Group for BB Organizations), and a content template (Template for BBOrganizations). I also installed and activated Kadence theme. And I set up an example BBOrganizations post.
I'm not seeing the repeated cells on the sandbox site yet.
I don't have a lot of plugins active on my site -- I just turned them all off, though, and it didn't make a difference -- I'm still seeing the extra cells.
I switched the theme on my site to Twenty Twenty instead, in case it was a theme issue. (It didn't make a difference.)
I went through and unlocked all 12 of them cells on my site (6 rows, 2 cells in each row) and deleted them. They were removed and not showing after I saved the template, but then I went back in and they were all there again.
I created a new content template from scratch and I'm not seeing the extra cells. Not sure what was wrong with the first one, and I hope it doesn't show up again, but I'll go from here.
ok - as you do not see the issue, I hope you should not with the new content template you created. If you have any issues, please feel free to report back by creating new ticket.
