Hi, I've installed the Embed Any Document plugin (https://wordpress.org/plugins/embed-any-document/). It works fine, for example I can embed Powerpoints in my pages, but I get an error in the backend if I try to use it in pages with Toolset forms.
If I build a new page I can add the form and the embedded document there, but then, if I try to edit the page again, the embed block gives an error and if I try to add it again, the Embed block icon is not available in the add new blocks menu.
I also can see that when I load the edit page, first it loads some kind of a modal that comes from Embed Any Document, then it disappeared. It doesn't happen on the other pages where I don't use Toolset forms.
Could I invite you to add that plugin to this Toolset sandbox site and set up what is required to reproduce the issue? Then we can investigate the cause.
It seems there is a conflict between block offered by "Embed Any Document" and "Toolset Forms".
Rather digging too deep - the easiest workaround would be you should add a "Fields and Text" block or "shortcodes" block and then add the Toolset form shortcode:
Hi, I tested your workaround but it didn't work for me. What worked fine is to add the embed document block inside a Content Template and then insert the content template in my page.
I'm very worried about the current Toolset development and update policy. You said that you will take care of compatibility and updating of your plugins, but I'm getting a lot of problems with Blocks. Actually I'm trying to use it as little as I can, I'm rolling back to the legacy View, that is much more stable and easy to use.
The feeling is that you are abandoning Toolset, the future looks dark :(((
Yes - we will take care of the updates and compatibility and that is why you see that recently we publish the hotfix version for PHP 8.x.x. Regarding compatibility - yes we do take care of those and we always have eyes on those but the one you reported is new compatibility issue with new plugin not the one with which Toolset plugins are officially announced as compatible.
Using classic view is good choice and block version is for fancy users and you can use it as per your convenience but as you already know Toolset is under maintained but we can not predict the future. Maybe we can add some development cycle soon but no promises on that yet. We are here to help you always when you stuck and always keen to share solution that works. I'm not sure why the solution I shared does not work for you as it was working for me. However - its good that you able to locate the solution that works without any issues.
