I am trying to: activate Toolset Access after deactivating most of the currently installed plugins.

Link to a page where the issue can be seen: N/A

I expected to see: Toolset Access activated

Instead, I got: an error stating that it wasn't possible to activate the plugin due to a fatal error caused by the plugin.

Additional info:

I have PMPro installed on my site along with several free and premium add-ons. I've discovered that when the Paid Memberships Pro - Membership Manager Role Add On is activated, activating Toolset Access causes a fatal error. There is very little in the debug log except for the following 6 examples of the fatal error. The errors appear to happen - generally - in random bits of code:

I've found that as a work-around if the Paid Memberships Pro - Membership Manager Role Add On is deactivated first, and then Toolset Access activated, no error is generated.

Hello and thank you for contacting the Toolset support.

To better assist with this issue I'll need your help to reproduce this issue on one of our test sites. Please log in with the following URL and install the PMPro plugins hidden link

I understood that deactivating "Membership Manager Role Add On" plugin allows you to activate Toolset Access. Are you able to activate "Membership Manager Role Add On" while Toolset Access is activated?

#1867677

Thank you for your response Jamal, much appreciated.

I have installed the PMPro plugin and the PMPro Membership Manager Role Add On in the sandbox as requested. Please note that the PMPro Membership Manager Role Add On is a premium plugin and as such, I've had to use my PMPro licence to enable support. Please do not share the licence details.

You are correct in your understanding. If I enable the PMPro Membership Manager Role Add On first and then attempt to enable Toolset Access I receive a fatal error. If I enable Toolset Access first and then enable the PMPro Membership Manager Role Add On, no error is generated.

Thank you very much for your collaboration. Unfortunately, after activating Toolset then the Role Addon, the site is crashing now with the same issue (memory error). I was not able to take a copy of the site so I can escalate this issue to our 2nd Tier.

So, I'll need your collaboration again to upload the plugins on a new sandbox, and I'll escalate the issue directly to our 2nd Tier. My apologies for the inconvenience.

Here a one-click-login to the new sandbox hidden link

Thank you very much.

Thanks Jamal and apologies for taking so long to get back to you. I have reinstalled the PMPro plugin and the PMPro Membership Manager Role Add On in the sandbox for you and your team. Please note that if you activate the plugin and the website crashes, you can simply deactivate either the Toolset Access or the PMPro Membership Manager Role Add On - in other words, the error is recoverable.

To recap:

Issue not present when

  • Activate Toolset Access
  • Activate PMPro Membership Manager Role Add On

To recreate the issue

  • Activate PMPro Membership Manager Role Add On
  • Activate Toolset Access

Thank you very much for your collaboration. I had to ask you to install the plugin again because the installation crashed after activating Toolset Access then Membership Manager Role Add On. Unfortunately, our sandbox platform does not offer FTP access, so I was not able to deactivate any of the plugins and recover the site.

This time, I took a copy of the site and I tried locally. I get the same results as you:
- Issue, if activating the addon before Toolset Access.
- No issue, if activating the addon after Toolset Access.

I am escalating this issue to our 2nd Tier and I'll get back to you as soon as possible.
