Hi there, I have used a CPT with comment section for a discussion. Now the discussion is over, I would like to close the comments in a way, that existing comments are still shown, but there is no possibility to add a new comment.
"Disable comments" also removes the existing comments from the view
"Settings/ Discussion/ close Comments after x days" does mot work.

Pls advice
Jutta

HI Jutta,

Thank you for getting in touch.

Can you provide a bit more clarity on the context in which you're viewing the comments. Are you displaying the comments on the Post template itself ?

As in my testing of the wordpress basic comment structure when I use the quick edit option on the post to disable the comments. The existing comments still show up but doesn't allow you to add new comments.

Please provide further clarity on the issue.

Thanks,
Shane

Hi Shane,
If I switch the comment area on, I can see the comments and the possibility to comment (screenshot 1). If I switch it off, I can See no comments.
I use the template functionality of toolset.

Hi Jutta,

Would you mind allowing me to have admin access to the website so that I can have a more detailed look at this for you ?

Please where applicable please provide me with a link to an example page where I can see the issue.

I've enabled the private fields for your next response.

Given that i've tested this on my test site and it still shows the comments even when i disabled commenting on the post. There is something different about your scenario.

Thanks,
Shane
