I'm trying to build new views based on an existing one (blocks) with some changes to content selection filters.
I'd imagine I can clone one and alter the View name, and start editing it.
But the edits is applied to the original View as well.
Is there any workflow documented for what I am trying to do?
Thanks in advance!
Is there any documentation that you are following?
It's not possible to clone a View when using the Block editor.
When you have made a View (by adding a View block to a page or template) you can re-use that View on another page, and have the option of the new View block being linked to the original (so that changes in the new block also affect the original), or of simply inserting a copy of the original View that you cannot modify.
If you expect to want to use several versions of a View where the output is the same but the View settings are different, you could create a Content Template which is not assigned to any post type and use that to design the output of the views. Then create new Views as and where required, and for the output of the View simply insert the Content Template you created.
