I am trying to: Change the permalink of a child page to match the updated parent permalink

I visited this URL: Local site - not relevant

I expected to see: A way to update the name of the child permalink

Instead, I got: No way to update the name of the child permalink even though the parent had changed

Hello again Nigel. You are already familiar with my developing site, so you should have some idea as to how to get around in it if needed. Also, if you need, you can use the same link to the google drive that I gave you in the previous issue you solved. If you need a new one, I can send.

So here's what's going on. Soon after I started working on my site I created a page called "12-28 new page", which ultimately became my home page. As I developed further, I created child pages to "12-28 new page". At some point, I changed the permalink name of "12-28 new page" to an address closer to what I would like my homepage to actually be - I changed it to "Increase2016", so the actual permalink is as follows: hidden link

The only problem is my child pages still have the "12-28-new-page" in their permalinks, as shown here: hidden link I expected to see the "12-28-new-page" removed and the new permalink name in its place.

As you can probably understand, having the "12-28-new-page" portion in the permalink looks less than professional. However the permalink edit option for the child page only allows me to edit the portion of the permalink associated with the child, in the case of the example above I am only able to edit the "musical-magic-overview" portion. I cannot figure out how to get rid of the "12-28-new-page" portion of the permalink.

Thanks in advance for your help.

It does not seem you make usage of Types Post Relationships here but of WordPress native Page Parent/Child relationships.

Those are entirely independent of Types. Yes, you can make a Post Type hierarchical as that, but the functionality is from WordPress in this case.

Can you confirm you use Page Relations (parent page/child page) and not Types Post Relationships with a Parent a Child Post Type?

In this case, the URL will be updated automatically, and if not, it would be a WordPress BUG, but I just tested this, it works.

Can you quickly let me know if this is the exact scenario or if you use Types Posts for it?
If so, can ou elaborate the setup?

Your comments helped me think in different ways and I have now found where to change things - pretty simple, I was looking in the wrong place. I had been trying to change the permalinks and titles of the pages - the slugs did not update automatically. Being pretty new to WordPress I did not realize this. But changing the slugs does the trick.

Thanks for your help!
