I am trying to:
Get a archive view to display posts matching the current archive page.

Link to a page where the issue can be seen:
hidden link

I expected to see:
Only posts in the post view with at least the category "app"

Instead, I got:
All posts, unfiltered

Hello. Thank you for contacting the Toolset support.

First of all - After checking to debug the information you shared with us, I found that you are using outdated Toolset plugins. We always recommend running your site with the latest stable release plugin version.

The current version of Toolset View plugin is 3.2
=> https://toolset.com/download/toolset-views/

*** Please make a FULL BACKUP of your database and website.***
Could you please update ALL Toolset plugins to it's latest officially released version. You can download the latest plugin release from your accounts page:
=> https://toolset.com/account/downloads/

Can you please update the Toolset views plugin to it's latest release version and check your issue. If your issue still persists:
- Could you please try to resolve your issue by deactivating all third-party plugins as well as the default theme to check for any possible conflicts with any of the plugins or themes? - Do you see any difference?

All the plugins I use are up-to-date except Toolset Views. It doesn't show up as an available update on WordPress. Why is that? Does it always need to be updated manually?

I have created a backup. Installed Views 3.2 by FTP. Cleared Cache.

No difference with the 20/20 theme activated.
No difference with all other plugins disabled (I did not disable Elementor Pro because it wouldn't even display without this plugin).

The thing is that, you have added the taxonomy filter "Category" to your view.

When you add a taxonomy filter, it will list all your posts. Basically, with Toolset, you can create custom search on post type archives. You can not add custom search for taxonomy and user type archives.

So, If I've removed the taxonomy dropdown filter from your view's "Search and Pagination" section:

 <div class="col-md-4">
      <div class="form-group">
        <label for="wpv-category">[wpml-string context="wpv-views"]Categories[/wpml-string]</label>
        [wpv-control-post-taxonomy taxonomy="category" type="select" default_label="all" url_param="wpv-category"]
      </div>
	</div>

I am not sure why but still on frontend, it does not have effect as I can still see the category dropdown;
=> hidden link

But If I preview the page - I can see the expected results:
=> hidden link

Yes, perfect!
I fixed it by clearing my cache. It now works on the frontend too.
Thank you!
