Hi,
I came across this error where I can not save or update a page where I made changes to the text, blocks or settings if that page contains a "view" block.
The problem does no exist on any pages without a Toolset-view, and I can see that the update button in the top right disables as soon as a view in my Gutenberg Editor has finished loading its dynamic contents.
Deactivating the Toolset Blocks plugin solves the issue and I can save the page again. Upon reactivating the plugin the error persists.
So the only two things
I tried different browsers and I did clear the cache.
I could not find a similar issue in the forum.
Attached I provided two screenshots that show the update button disabling after the view finished loading.
Do you need more info to have a look into this issue?
Is there anything else I can try to fix this?
Thank you in advance.
Best
Jannik
Hi Jannik,
That seems to be somehow a Javascript error as the disabling of the update button is correct when the data is loaded, but after that it should get enabled which is not.
I have two suggestions to test at the time being:
1. Check with a simple View
- Add a new sample page
- Add a new view block there with a simple listing
- See if the same thing happens or not.
2. Check for a possible plugin/theme conflict
- IMPORTANT STEP! Create a backup of your website. Or better approach will be to test this on a copy/staging version of the website to avoid any disruption of a live website.
- Switch to the default theme such as "TwentyTwenty" by going to "WordPress Dashboard > Appearance > themes".
- Go to "WordPress Dashboard > Plugins" and deactivate all plugins except Toolset and its add-ons.
- Check if you can still recreate the issue.
- If not, re-activate your plugins one by one and check the issue each time to find out the plugin that causes the problem.
If the problem persists, I'd appreciate it if you could give me the URL/User/Pass of your WordPress dashboard after you make sure that you have a backup of your website.
It is absolutely important that you give us a guarantee that you have a backup so if something happens you will have a point of restore.
Make sure you set the next reply as private.
Thanks.
Hi Christopher,
thank you for the suggestions.
Deleting the view and recreating it has solved my issue and it hasn't occurred since.
So it probably was a fluke and everything works fine now.
Thank you 🙂
