I am trying to: Use Divi Builder to edit the content template.

Link to a page where the issue can be seen:

I expected to see: Divi builder for the page

Instead, I got: 404, page not found. So I can't edit the page which I previously did with DIVI Builder. This happenned after I updated DIVI..

Hi Alvin

I just tested this, and with the latest WP 5.0, current Types and Views, and the newest version of Divi (3.18.4) I see the same problem, editing a Content Template with Divi takes you to the front end where and a 404 error.

I've reported this and we'll look into it right away, I will keep you posted.

Just a minor update to say that we published an erratum describing the problem, with a temporary workaround (effectively to disable Gutenberg temporarily while making edits to the Content Template): https://toolset.com/errata/divi-builder-throws-a-404-when-editing-a-content-template-with-it/

WIth the latest update to DIVI 3.19, the problem is back. Now I can't create a page the builder. The page will not load after that. During the editing it may be fine but can't update, the page will hang. Exceed max execution time.

The various issues reported with Divi—the 404 problem when editing content templates with Divi as well as known problems editing standard pages with Divi—will be fixed with a Views update next week.

I'm not sure about the page hanging, that would be spotted during testing hopefully, but if the update doesn't fix it it will need raising as a separate issue.

Was the views updated? I still can't load the page.
This is the error I get when I try to load the page that has only 1 view in it.
Fatal error: Maximum execution time of 45 seconds exceeded in /home/domagent/public_html/wp-includes/plugin.php on line 177

Sorry Alvin, the update didn't happen over the holidays, but should happen either later today or tomorrow.

My understanding from the developers is that the issue of using Divi to edit content templates should be resolved, but that issues surrounding the use of the new Divi front-end editor more generally may not be resolved for quite some time. Divi introduced major breaking changes with their latest updates that will require a significant investment of time on our part.

When the hotfix is published, please update and then let me know if you are able to edit content templates successfully.
