[Resolved] Cannot install Views add-on

This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:

How can I install the Views add-on on my WordPress site using the OTGS Installer or manual installation?

Solution:

You do not need a Views add-on to have the legacy views. If you have the Toolset blocks plugin installed you can enable legacy views:

- Go to "Toolset > Settings > General".
- Find the "Editing experience" section.
- Check the "Show both the legacy and Blocks interface and let me choose which to use for each item I build" checkbox.
- Reload the browser page.
- Go to the newly added "Toolset > Views" menu.
- There you will be able to edit the views.

I still prefer the more direct approach of the Views add-on over Blocks and use it for all my sites. However, I don't manage to install it on a new site, nextoem.com. The WPML installer does not offer the option and if I manually download the zip-file and try to install it I get the error: "the link you followd has expired" (translation of the Dutch: "De link die je volgde is verlopen"). Downloading a fresh copy of the zip-file does not help. The site uses WordPress 6.2.1 and PHP 7.5

Any idea how to solve this?

Hi there,

If you have the Toolset blocks plugin installed, it is the same as the Views plugin and you can enable Toolset views there using the steps below:

- Go to "Toolset > Settings > General".
- Find the "Editing experience" section.
- Check the "Show both the legacy and Blocks interface and let me choose which to use for each item I build" checkbox.
- Reload the browser page.
- Go to the newly added "Toolset > Views" menu.
- There you will be able to edit the views.
