[Resolved] Cannot import Taxonomy created with Toolset

This support ticket is created 5 years, 8 months ago. There's a good chance that you are reading advice that it now obsolete.

This is the technical support forum for Toolset - a suite of plugins for developing WordPress sites without writing PHP.

Everyone can read this forum, but only Toolset clients can post in it. Toolset support works 6 days per week, 19 hours per day.

So I have created several custom taxonomies using Toolset. Now I want to import these taxonomies into another site.

I have performed the following steps:

1) Navigated to Toolset -> Export/Import on my local WordPress site.
2) With the "Types" tab selected, I clicked on the "Export" button to download all custom fields, post types and taxonomies created by Types plugin. This resulted in downloading a zip file where I currently cannot read the data (is the data encrypted?).
3) Navigated to Toolset -> Export/Import on my other WordPress site.
4) Within the "Import Types Data' section, I have the "XML or Zip file" radio button selected. The "Choose File' button is disabled, thus not allowing me to upload any files. This is also occurring on my local WordPress site as well.

Is there a setting I need to enable in order to import this data?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hey Shane,

Attached is a screenshot of the problem I'm having where the import buttons are disabled within Toolset Export/Import.

Also, I'm not sure how I can upload those export files within this forum. How can I do that?

Hello,

I re-read your forum post, So the toolset export only exports the structure of taxonomy, not the taxonomy data itself.

So its a 2 step process.

The next step is to use the default wordpress exporter to export the taxonomy terms themselves.

I believe this is what you are having the issue with.

I was able to export from the local system just fine.

The problem is that the import buttons are disabled within the Types Panel in the Import Types Data section of my target system. If you refer to the attached screenshot, you will see that both the "Choose File" and "Review and Import" buttons are disabled.

Hello,

There could be a plugin conflict that is causing this as you've got quite a number of plugins installed.

If you check the console on this page after the inspecting the element in chrome, you might see some JS errors.

If you do see such errors I would recommend temporarily disabling all the non-toolset plugins and trying again.

Once you have done this please let me know the results. If the issue is still there. Please let me know so that we continue debugging the issue.

The private fields will be enabled for your next response to provide the credentials if the issue still occurs after disabling the plugins.
