I am trying to: see my posts. I spotted that my posts aren't visible anymore when you want to see them, but instead one gets a there is no layout message, see screenshot. So i went ahead and created a layout, assigned to display posts, added the post content inside the layout and when you click preview seems to be working. But it is not when you want to view another post.
I would like to
1. Not be needed to use layouts for posts, but my theme's template
2. Understand what is the issue and why I cannot render my posts

Link to a page where the issue can be seen: any post, for example: hidden link (if not logged in, you only get a blank page )

Hi Alina,

Thank you for contacting our support forum.

Would you mind providing me with admin access to the site so that I can take a deeper look at this for you ?

Also if possible and should it be needed, can I have your permissions to create a duplicator package from your site so that I can test the site locally as well ?

Finally if you haven't already tried this, could you temporarily disable all the non-toolset plugins and try again ?

Once you have done this please let me know.

Thanks,
Shane

Hi Aliina,

I see that the issue is actually being caused by Layouts.

However you mentioned that you don't want to use Layouts correct?

if so then you can just disable it.

Thanks,
Shane

I do want to use layouts for other custom posts, I have three custom posts: resources, staff, open positions, that have layouts assigned so it is really important to not diable them. Please provide a solution in this case

On the other hand, i don't need to use a layout for regular WordPress posts - that I use to publish news.

Hi Alina,

Could you let me know when did this issue started to occur ?

Thanks,
Shane

No, the issue occurred before the update, I was actually hoping that the update would solve it. I noticed it let's say for about 2 or 3 weeks. I have tried to solve it myself by creating a new layout for posts, deleting any outstanding, not used layouts, etc.

You should know I experienced this before with this particular development site (I do not recall when), that posts were not showing.

Another aspect with this site is related to permalinks. If you go to settings, please observe that I have a [post] string as part of the permalinks , this was a quick fix to the previous experienced problem with not being able to see posts. Removing that "solves" the problem above, but it generates the exact same problem for static pages, such as for example: hidden link.

We were supposed to launch this new site these days, but I can't do that until we manage to solve this issue

Thanks again Shane for looking at this.

Best

Hi Alina,

It seems there was some corruption in the database.

Could you access your mysql database and run this query on the wp_option table.

DELETE FROM `wh_wp3_options` WHERE `option_id`= 1149;

This should delete the corrupt entry and restore your functionality.

Thanks,
Shane

wrong layout for individual page.png
normal post name permalink.png

Thanks Shane,
Your suggestion might have helped a bit. however, the problem persists, as in when clicking on an individual post you see the archive of posts, rather than the individual post. If permalinks are set to post name, you can see the individual posts, but the individual pages are displaying the post archive.

So the problem persists. I am really in a hurry with launching the new site, hope you are able to find the issue soon

best,
Alina

I have tried changing the settings for layout onWhat to display if no layout is assigned to content
from "What the theme would output" to "A blank page with a message." When trying to view static pages everything is wrong:
the address in the browser is set to the static page, the page title shown in the title bar (breadcrumbs) corresponds to the latest posts but layouts understands this as being an archive ???? according to the message displayed. Something is definitely wrong with layouts.

what do you think of trying to export the layouts I'm using and, deleting layouts, reinstalling and then importing again? I'm out of clues.. and a bit desperare

Hi Alina,

This issue should now be resolved.

Also you don't need Toolset Avada integration plugin as our Layouts plugin now comes with the integration built in.

Finally the templating message was being displayed because it was enabled in your Layouts settings under Toolset -> Settings -> "What to display if no layout is assigned to content"

I've disabled this so the issue should no longer occur.

Thanks,
Shane

Hi Alina,

I dont think this one is the fault of our Toolset plugins.

I've disabled them and your pages are still being displayed as Archives.

Could you contact the Avada support for assistance with this one because if disabling our plugins doesn't resolve it then the issue doesn't come from our side.

Thanks,
Shane
