I would like to build a database of items. A custom post time of fields should do. But I would like to be able to create views from different sites within a multisite setup, that could access that database, based on the preferences for each site admin.

Is this possible? We have a "shared" sub site that is setup so content can be copied to the other subsites. Essentially, the subsite admin will log into shared and select the item they want pushed to their site and it copies the content.

I would like to maintain a central database where admin is located in the shared site, and then the other subsites can create views to query and display the information in the database. Is that possible with toolset?

Hello. Thank you for contacting the Toolset support.

With WordPress, when you create a subsite using multisite it will create all database table for the subsite like a normal wordpress website. So there is no way that views should be able to query another subsite content. Views can only query the data of its own single site.

If you want to copy the posts to all of your subsites you should try to use plugins like:
=> https://wordpress.org/plugins/threewp-broadcast/

And then you will require to create a view to each of your subsite. I see they are also offering a addon plugin using which you can even broadcast the Types and views as well:
=> hidden link

I suggest you should get in touch with them and check if that suits your requirement.
