I need to use the features of bootstrap 4 which is much more modern. I even know how to implement this in hand, create a plugin and make the call, but I think you could implement that.

It would be nice, to be able to add a .css and .js file to add the library, so we could add up to other css frameworks to work on the views part in a more practical way.

Hi there

Updating Toolset to use Bootstrap 4 is a common request and is something that we will begin to implement soon. There are lots of competing demands on the developers time and until now Bootstrap 4 hasn't managed to make it to the top of the list, though our intention is to begin work on it soon when a particular developer has finished the current dev cycle for a particular plugin.

I can't make any promises because plans can change, but it shouldn't be too long.

In the meantime you could go to Toolset > Settings and completely disable Bootstrap, and then manually enqueue Bootstrap 4 CSS and JS yourself, although you may find some minor issues where the markup output by Views, Forms, or Layouts does not fully align with what's required because it is designed for Bootstrap 3.
