Automatic selection of the Default Template Layout

This support ticket is created 7 years, 5 months ago. There's a good chance that you are reading advice that it now obsolete.

This is the technical support forum for Toolset - a suite of plugins for developing WordPress sites without writing PHP.

Everyone can read this forum, but only Toolset clients can post in it. Toolset support works 6 days per week, 19 hours per day.

Hi,

Since my website is now live for my team, someone is filling the custom post.

But everytime he create a new entry (a custom post), he needs to select the template even if I selected my content template for this custom post.

Here is where he needs to go everytime : hidden link

How can we set a default value for this?

Hi Philippe,

Thank you for contacting our support forum.

Was this layout selected as the default layout for the CPT ?

If not then you can set this by going to Toolset > Layouts and editing the layouts you want to set as a default, then scroll to the section that says "This layout is used for these posts:" and click "Change how this layout is used"

From here you can assign the layout to a custom post type.

That's exactly what I did the first time, tried again yesterday and we still have to choose the layout when we create a new post

That is strange would you providing me with admin access so that I can have a look at this and test it out first hand ?

This is because this is not the expected behaviour of our plugin.

The private fields have been enabled for your next response.
