On both my blog archive page hidden link and recipe archive page: hidden link, the latest post isn't showing.
Could you help me find out why.
Hi there! What a strange error to have happening.
I've enabled a private reply to share your WordPress login information so that I can take a closer look at your site and see if I can find out why the recent post isn't loading in the archive views.
As always, please make a backup of both files and database before sending your login information.
Thanks,
Meagan
Thanks for the information. I've had a quick look at your site and wasn't able to see any reason why these posts shouldn't be included in the archive loop.
I'd like you to test further by disabling all non-Toolset plugins and changing to a default theme like Twenty Sixteen - does the problem still occur under these conditions?
If so, I'll open up a reply and send instructions for getting a copy of your site, so I can take a closer look with my colleagues.
Thanks,
Meagan
I've heard back from a colleague who took a look at your site. He noticed that you're using Layouts for your Archives pages instead of using our built-in Archive method (more info: https://toolset.com/documentation/user-guides/normal-vs-archive-views/).
There's a hidden setting in the View on those Layouts pages which excludes the current page - one must click the "Screen Options" and check off the item labeled Query Options to see a new checkbox labeled "Don't include current page in query result". When in an Archive Layout, this means "exclude the most current item".
We went ahead and disabled this checkbox, and voila, the most recent item is now included in both views!
However, we do suggest using our built-in WordPress Archive editor when creating custom archive pages in the future, as detailed in the link above.
Glad to have helped solve this issue!
