[Resolved] Anonymize Map coordinates

This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:

The issue here is that the user wanted to hide the map coordinates from the page source code itself.

Solution:

Unfortunately this is not possible however What you can do is disable right click because you wouldn't be able to hide this information as it is needed by the map.

Try the plugin below to disable right click so your visitors won't be able to inspect the page element.

We need to show visitors a rough idea of an address. Though it is important the coordinates (or any other way to precisely pinpoint a database entry) don't show up in the source code.

I have disabled zoom options, but going through the source I am able to distill the coordinates which enables me to find out precise whereabouts.

Example page: hidden link

How can I prevent this?

Thanks Shane,

That helps well for content theft, but inspecting through developer tools is still possible. I think I'll add a 'general' zip code, somewhere in the middle of an area.

Thanks for your brain feed 🙂
