An error occurred while updating Toolset

This support ticket is created 5 years, 11 months ago. There's a good chance that you are reading advice that it now obsolete.

This is the technical support forum for Toolset - a suite of plugins for developing WordPress sites without writing PHP.

Everyone can read this forum, but only Toolset clients can post in it. Toolset support works 6 days per week, 19 hours per day.

Hi there,

When I want to update a Toolset plugins, WordPress tells me: "An error occurred while updating Toolset ..."
Here is a screenshot.

This is a known issue, it was introduced with the installer code included in Types 3.2.5 and—unfortunately—the solution requires manually updating Types.

Make sure you have a current backup.

- Download the current version from toolset.com/account/downloads
- Delete the current version of Types from the plugin page
- Upload the new zip file at the Add new plugins page and activate

Here we routinely use Duplicator and All in One WP Migration, because they are also very good for doing site migrations.
