[Resolved] An article appears on an authors bio page, even if he is not the author

This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem: My custom checkboxes field is saving lots of "0" values when I save my CPT. This is causing inaccurate results to appear in a filtered View of my CPT.

Solution: Check the settings for this custom field and ensure "When unchecked, save 0 to the database" is not selected. Then resave any CPTs that have the 0s applied.

This support ticket is created 7 years, 2 months ago. There's a good chance that you are reading advice that it now obsolete.

I expected to see: the list WITHOUT the article "Government 3.0 vergt visie 3.0"

Instead, I got: the list WITH the article "Government 3.0 vergt visie 3.0"

In the WP admin, we have added a colum "Itinera Author" so we have a nice reference of the article authors in the Admin. For this article (see screenshot), we get "0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0, Kjell Clarysse" which causes this article to appear on everybody's bio page.

We used to be able to fix this issue, by editing the article, checking another author, unchecking him and saving the article, but this method does not work anymore.

Hi, what can you tell me about the Author field setting "When unchecked, save 0 to the database"? I'm attaching a screenshot. This is why the author list for this post has so many 0s in it - each option that is not checked is saved as a 0. Was this intentional, perhaps to support a filter, or part of another support ticket?

Yes, that was the setting, as in your screenshot. We have changed it and saved the articles again, the "0" are now gone. BUT, this setting has been so for a few months, and 98% of the articles created did not have this issue, only 2 showed the zeros.

I don't have a good explanation for that based on what I've seen so far of your site. I noticed this article also has the zeros, so it should be resaved:
/wp-admin/post.php?post=14122&action=edit&lang=fr

I recommend making a full backup of your site, then try submitting a new article, add its translation(s), and edit them all at least once to see if the authors are saved appropriately. If so, I think it's wise to keep a close eye on this while the next few articles are published. If you notice the author field acting strangely again, we can investigate further.

Thx for pointing out that article 14122, after saving it, all the zeros were gone.
We are a bit short of time right now to create extra articles ourselves, but our client does so regularly, we will follow up when they create new articles.
