[Resolved] Adding the custom posts recent post to widget sidebar

This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:

The issue here is that the user wanted to display the custom posts using the default wordpress post widget.

Solution:

Actually for this to work you will need to edit the code for that widget as its only meant to work with the default post types. You can use the plugin below to display the custom post types in a widget.
https://wordpress.org/plugins/custom-post-type-widgets/

Alternatively you can use views to create a custom widget to display your custom posts.
